Illinois' No. 1 Billy Joel Cover Band is getting an early jump on its annual jubilee to honor Billy's birthday. Like 8 p.m. eight days before kind of early. $8 admission with a bar available. Costumes. Merriment. Silliness. Get your last chance to see it all before the arrival of Willis McNugget, Silly Joel's sixth man and one of several very special guests in attendance. The show is free, but we're raising funds to provide professional sound for the Springfield Theatre Centre's February 2010 production of "Rent" - directed by our very own Virginia (Carly Shank) and starring our very own Captain Jack (Ralph Shank) and numerous friends of Silly Joel. So we will be passing the hat around. Anything you can spare will go toward making sure you hear every note of what's sure to be one of the finest theatrical productions in Springfield's history. The show begins at 9 p.m. with opening act Mike "The Arm" Armintrout, and Silly Joel will follow. We hope to see you there, as it will be tryptophan-tastic!
